Ready to tailor your celebration with style? Let's dive in.

Colorful Expressions: The Rise of Pastels and Interactive Florals

Gone are the days of monochromatic palettes and restrained floral arrangements.

This year, bursts of color are in, with pastels leading the charge, offering a soft yet vibrant alternative to the classic whites and creams.

Haleigh says, "The biggest ones that I have been seeing, especially in floral design, are pastels; those are starting to be a big trend, which I am excited about to get away from the neutrals.”

Another fun trend? Floral displays are becoming more interactive.

"There are Lots of seasonal flowers. Wildflowers are big for everyone, especially in the summer.” Haleight adds, “And interactive flower displays. Many couples have been moving towards a make-your-own-flower bar or make-your-own-flower crown type deal."

This trend beautifies the venue and engages guests, allowing them to take a piece of the wedding magic home in the form of a personalized flower crown or bouquet.

Farm-to-Table: A Delicious Twist on Wedding Cuisine

The farm-to-table movement has transformed what we expect from wedding fare.

The shift towards locally sourced ingredients and customized menus is more than a culinary trend—it’s a statement of sustainability and personalization.

"Food-wise, everybody loves ‘farm-to-table,’ and it is becoming increasingly popular," Schultz says.

Traditional sit-down dinners and buffets are making way for dynamic food stations and menus tailored to the tastes and values of the couple and their guests.

Here are a few ways to work with your venue and/or caterer to bring the farm-to-table trend to your wedding:

  • Local Farm Partnerships - Source ingredients directly from local farms to support the community and ensure freshness. Highlight the origins of these ingredients to your guests, possibly through menu notes.
  • Custom Menus - Collaborate with your caterer to craft menus that showcase local produce, meats, and seafood, reflecting your tastes and the local bounty.
  • Educational Elements—To enhance guests' appreciation and engagement, Add brief notes or talks about the food sources and preparation methods.
  • Interactive Food Stations - Create stations where guests can engage in the preparation of their meals, such as a build-your-own salad bar with local ingredients.
  • Sustainable Practices - Incorporate eco-friendly practices across the wedding, from decorations to compostable dinnerware.
  • Family Traditions - If applicable, integrate family-produced goods, such as meats or crops, adding a personal touch to your menu.
  • Seasonal Decor - Use locally sourced and seasonal flowers for decorations to match the sustainability theme of your menu.

Customization is Key

Customization is the heartbeat of modern weddings, allowing couples to infuse their special day with personal touches that reflect their unique stories and tastes.

By tailoring everything from the menu to the décor, couples can create a celebration that resonates deeply with their personalities and relationships.

For instance, collaborating with caterers to craft a menu that features favorite dishes or perhaps heirloom recipes ensures that the meal is not only nourishing but also meaningful.

Similarly, customizing the venue setup, music selections, and even the flow of the evening can transform a standard wedding template into a deeply personal event.

"It's not just one trend; it’s how couples want the experience to be for themselves and their guests," says Schultz.

Finding vendors that align with your vision and personality is crucial in crafting an event that feels true to you.

Your Wedding, Your Way

As we look toward the future of summer weddings, it’s clear that personalization is the key to a memorable celebration.

Whether through vibrant floral arrangements, farm-fresh cuisine, or a menu that tells your unique story, today's trends empower couples to dream big and tailor their day to reflect their journey together perfectly.

Choosing the right trends for your wedding isn't just about following what's popular; it's about making sure those choices resonate with your narrative.
