Level Topic Breakdown
-
Each level will require a certain number of times a junior golfer must play. This can be with parents, other juniors, at The Palmer Course or other courses the junior may play at. Players will be required to turn in cards to help track dates of playing.
-
Each level will require participants to practice, with the number of times and time length of the practice increasing during the different levels.
-
The junior golfer is required to take a certain number of instruction lessons with each level, this will also increase as the level progresses. Students can receive private instruction, PGA Jr. League Practice (if a participant on the team), clinic days, and group instruction to reach required number required. This will be tracked in the golf shop by the professional staff.
-
Putting, short game, and long game tests will be given to measure progress during each level. These will be administered by the professional staff and passing dates will be recorded for each player.
-
It is important that each player be aware of common rules and etiquette which is why each player will be required to pass a progressively harder test each level. This will help prepare our junior golfers to have the best experience while playing at our course, other courses, and in tournaments.
-
It is also important that each player knows the correct terms and what they mean with the game of golf. Like the rules and etiquette test it will get harder with each level.
-
Each respective level is assigned a target score and a yardage or tee color to play from.
-
This is simply a guideline, as students can go at their own pace depending on time and interest level.
Individual and group lessons are available anytime (30 and 60 minute available). For prices and more information contact Caitlin Sturm at 304.269.8884 or visit the golf shop.
